Component Scale Calibration

High quality component scale calibration services

Component scales are industrial counting scales used largely within manufacturing for parts counting and stock control purposes. Component scales accurately count very large volumes of identical component parts by weighing a sample of the items that are going to be weighed, usually 10 pieces as a minimum, the scale then calculates the actual weight of each individual part and will from there go onto report the total quantity of component parts placed on the weighing platform. These devices therefore provide a huge time saving and quality control function in many businesses.

Component scales are optimised specifically for the purpose of counting components; however, this does not mean that is their only function and many have a variety of capabilities which make them one of the most versatile pieces of weighing equipment used across the manufacturing, shipping and logistics sectors. Component scales are verified at point of sale, which is a necessity, for example, when they are used by businesses for packaging and shipping purposes. Regular annual calibration is then recommended by most manufacturers.

Calibration of component scales is performed like any other scale calibration with the use of highly accurate test weight standards, it must also be done in-situ where they are regularly used. Calibrationhouse offers an onsite scale calibration service, which is ideal for getting component scales verified and back in service quickly.
