SPO2 Simulator Calibration calibration services are available either onsite at a customer’s premises or at our Durham based laboratory. Traceable to national standards calibration is available on all makes and models of device. SPO2 simulators are standalone patient simulation devices that simulate blood oxygen saturation and heart rate.
SP02 simulators allow biomedical engineers to check the performance of patient monitoring pulse oximeter devices by mimicking the physiological vital signs recorded from a patient’s body by healthcare staff. Calibration of these devices is required periodically to ensure correct treatment and diagnosis can be made of medical conditions. Calibration is a more of a function check and involves comparison with another calibrated patient simulation device.
SP02 simulators are used widely in the healthcare sector by biomedical engineers to test the accuracy of patient monitoring equipment, they can also be used in the development and manufacture of patient monitoring devices, so it is of paramount importance they are providing accurate readings. Confidence in measurement can help to make correct diagnosis of patient conditions and ensure product quality in the design and manufacture of new devices.
Calibrationhouse deals with multiple NHS trusts and providers across the UK healthcare sector in calibration of SPO2 simulation instruments. Our SPO2 Simulator Calibration service forms part of our broader patient simulator calibration services and is extremely popular both onsite at customer premises and at our laboratory in County Durham. Calibrationhouse works closely with Seaward Group brand partner Rigel Medical to ensure calibration staff have the best training and equipment to calibrate SPO2 simulators from a broad array of different manufacturers.
The technical team at Calibrationhouse recommends that all SPO2 simulators are calibrated at least once per year, but it is up to customers to outline their calibration schedules in quality documentation. Our system helps customers by keeping records of calibration dates to provide annual reminders for periodic calibration service. Electronic certificates of conformity will be provided on completion of the work.
