Time Counter Calibration

Timer counter calibration service on-site or at our lab

Often known simply as timers, timer counters are instruments for monitoring process and control within automated manufacturing environments. With digital, and completely mechanical counters on the market, there are many solutions available to industry where the need for precise tallying or counting arises.

A counter essentially stores and displays the number of times a particular event or process has occurred within a specific time frame, usually with reference to a standard 12- or 24-hour clock. There are many different types of counter available depending on the application such as:

  • Decimal counter (counts decimal digits up to 9 and then resets)
  • Digital counter (digital display works off relays that operate when particular set time values are reached)
  • Hour timer (used to record time elapsed, useful for equipment operation or haulage driver monitoring)
  • Mechanical counter (old fashioned device typically using a series of time stamped mounted disks)
  • Ripple counters (count the number of pulses or ripples from a specific application in a particular time period)
  • Synchronous counters (reliable method using simultaneous signals to the measurement process)

Timer counters are part of our electrical test equipment calibration service, which is one of the most popular at Calibrationhouse. Like all test instruments timer counters can drift away from manufacturer specification over time, therefore requiring annual calibration checks.  We offer our timer counter calibration service at our Durham based laboratory and onsite at customer premises.
