Signal Generator Calibration

Comprehensive signal generator calibration services

A signal generator is one of the most widely used pieces of test equipment in electronics and electrical manufacturing. These items are designed specifically to generate different types of frequencies and signals for a variety of purposes such as electrical design, testing and troubleshooting. Signal generator is quite a generic term and there many different types of equipment that can be classed in this range, these are outlined below:

  • Frequency counter (used for measuring the frequency of an electrical signal over a specific period of time)
  • Function generator (used to create a variety of different waveforms with electrical signals)
  • Pulse generator (used to generate and introduce electronic pulses to components under test)
  • Spectrum analyser (used specifically in the audio and radio sector to analyse performance across radio frequency)
  • Waveform generator (used to generate and introduce waveforms to components under test.

These instruments as you will see are all used for advanced testing on electrical components, they have many features and specifications although all essentially produce a variety of electrical signals in the form of a wave. Calibrationhouse as part of the Seaward Group benefits from over 40 years of experience in the design, manufacture, and calibration of electrical test equipment and class this as one our main areas of expertise.

Our signal generator calibration service is available both onsite at customer premises and within our Durham based laboratory. We do have a frequency test limit of 1GHz, so please contact us to discuss your individual requirements. Sometimes devices may be able to read higher, but do you actually use these higher readings?
