A resistance box is often more commonly referred to as a decade box and is a piece of test equipment that includes several different resistor values. The accuracy of resistance boxes is very high, making them an ideal choice as a calibration tool for electrical test laboratories. The main advantage of a resistance box is the availability of multiple resistance values in one setting therefore negating the need for multiple pieces of test equipment.
Calibrationhouse as part of the Seaward Group benefits from over 40 years of experience in the design, manufacture, and calibration of resistance measurement devices. The following items are a selection of products that are produced and calibrated by us on a daily basis through our Cropico brand:
Resistance is one of the most utilised measurements in electronics. Resistors are found in many electronic devices with their main purpose being resistance to the flow of electrical current. Resistance boxes however, because of their relationship with current and voltage via ohms law are used extensively by calibration providers like us to verify a range of electrical test equipment.
Due to the high accuracy of resistance boxes and their use in calibrating less accurate instrumentation it is imperative that these devices themselves are checked regularly. Calibrationhouse has a full suite of high accuracy resistance standards so can offer UKAS certified resistance box calibration services on instruments up to 2Gohm
