Multimeter Calibration

Competitive multimeter calibration services

The Calibrationhouse Multimeter Calibration service is part of our wider scope for testing of electrical test equipment, which provides accredited calibration services on a wide range of devices used in the field of electrical test and measurement. Onsite multimeter calibration is available along with standard calibration from our laboratory in Durham.

What is Multimeter Calibration?

A multimeter is also known as a VOM (Volt-Ohmmeter) and is basically an electronic measuring instrument, which combines a number of measurement capabilities into one instrument. Calibration involves checking all the measurement parameters against a standard of higher accuracy, conventional multimeters generally measure voltage, current and resistance although there are more complex versions where measurements of capacitance and frequency can be tested.

Typical test parameters that you may expect from multimeters include:

  • Capacitance Test
  • Diode Test
  • Frequency Test
  • Logic Test
  • Continuity Test
  • AC Voltage Test
  • AC Current Test
  • DC Current Test
  • Resistance Check

Why Calibrate Multimeters?

A multimeter is a standard piece of equipment for most field service engineers so the Calibrationhouse Multimeter Calibration service encounters customers from a wide selection of industries and sectors such as: Manufacturing, Healthcare, Utilities, Pharmaceutical, Electrical Engineering and Construction. The portable nature and field service usage of multimeter’s often lead to damage of the instrument causing inaccurate out of specification readings. Failure to calibrate multimeters can lead to incorrect decisions being made, which can have significant implications later in a design project or maintenance task.

How we can help?

Calibrationhouse recognises the need for a fast and efficient Multimeter Calibration service, which is one of our most popular and widely used services across the range of industries and customer types we deal with. Calibrationhouse offers a quick turnaround Multimeter Calibration service, so equipment is back with our customers within 5-7 working days, significantly reducing the downtime of our customers operations while equipment is away being tested. Calibration of multimeters is also available via our onsite service, which means an engineer will come to your location and calibrate your instrument on the day.

As part of the calibration service customers will receive a certificate traceable to national standards, this will form a vital part of quality management and help meet ISO9001 guidelines. UKAS certification is available on certain parameters, please contact us for more information.

What we recommend for your Multimeter

Calibrationhouse recommends that multimeters should be checked periodically at least once per year.

We can calibrate all makes and models of multimeter with prices starting at as little as £33. Whatever brand your multimeter is or wherever you have bought it from you can trust Calibrationhouse to take good care of it throughout its useful life.
