What is Multimeter Calibration?

A multimeter is also known as a VOM (Volt-Ohmmeter) and is basically an electronic measuring instrument, which combines a number of measurement capabilities into one instrument. Calibration involves checking all the measurement parameters against a standard of higher accuracy, conventional multimeters generally measure voltage, current and resistance although there are more complex versions where measurements of capacitance and frequency can be tested.
