Sound Level Meter Calibration
High quality sound level meter calibration services
Calibrationhouse has the capability to calibrate all makes and models of sound and noise equipment accurately, quickly and for a reasonable price. Regular calibration of sound and noise equipment is essential to maintain accuracy and ensure equipment performs to recognised industry standards. Calibrationhouse’s Sound Meter Calibration Service essentially provides two checks to the equipment; one to check and verify the sound level measurement and another using an acoustic calibrator to do a general function check on the meter.
Sound level meters essentially measure the sound pressure in relation to a reference standard and this then gives the decibel rating (dB). These decibel rating is an important measurement in industry, particularly when measuring both noise pollution at airports and the sound level in heavy construction and manufacturing environments. Measurement ranges in most meters are determined by the frequency range of human hearing. Calibrationhouse recommends all sound level meters are calibrated at least once a year.
The sound meter calibration service is offered both at our laboratory and part of our onsite service throughout the UK. All sound calibrations are carried out with traceability to national standards and this will be indicated on the calibration certificate. UKAS standard calibrations are available to certain parameters; please contact us to discuss your sound meter calibration requirements.
